Dev Diary: Breaking News from the Code Castle!
Helicopters, Bullet Hell, and Comic Con Dreams
In this week’s devlog, I get to tell you about the wild ride we’ve been on lately! Spoiler: there’s been a lot of code, Ventilate, a dash of marketing mayhem, and more than a few “Aha!” moments.
Wrapping Up the Old, Powering Up the New
First up, I’ve been dusting off our classic 3D helicopter code and giving it a high-octane makeover. Why, you ask? Well, I want to see just how fast it can go—and then set it free so you can have some fun, too! This is all part of a book I’m writing about 3D modeling. I’ve got my trusty old code and notes, and soon, they’ll be available for everyone. Consider it a retro gift with a modern twist.
Game News: Ventilate Takes Flight!
On the gaming front, our single-player steampunk bullet hell adventure, Ventilate, is now live on Steam! While we’ve paused the development pedal, the marketing engine is running full throttle. I’ve been busy crafting video teasers and snappy clips for social media—think TikTok, Instagram, and all those places where cool game clips go viral. It’s been a whirlwind of edits, hashtags, and fan interactions.
We’ve also been sprucing up the Steam page, making it as appealing as a fresh batch of cookies. With the current Steam sale heating up, I’ve had my hands full prepping for that, too, including updates for our other titles, Gauntlet and Crystal Edge Retribution.
New Games on the Horizon
We don’t just rest on our digital laurels. In our secret lab, we’re developing not one, but two new games! First up: Don’t Whack A MOLE, which, I admit, is about six months behind schedule… but good things take time, right? The second game is still hush-hush, but here’s a teaser: picture a character named Bat, a wild 3D world, and endless opportunities to run, fly, and pull off crazy stunts. Watch this space for updates!
Exhibitions: Comic Con, Here We Come!
Mark your calendars for August, because Comic Con is just around the corner. We’re brainstorming what to bring, but rest assured—Ventilate is our showstopper. Of course, our trusty castle will make its usual appearance, but we’re scheming up a few surprises to keep things extra interesting.
We’ve also been chatting with some intriguing folks lately, so who knows what collaborations or new adventures might be in the works? Stay tuned!
So that’s our week in a nutshell: coding, marketing, dreaming, and gearing up for the next big thing. Thanks for following along—see you in the next update!

Romero In Galway
This week brought some tough news for Romero Games in Ireland, as they lost funding for their upcoming FPS. However, John and the team are resilient, and we hope someone else will support their project. They’ve made significant contributions to the Irish gaming industry, and we wish them all the best.
